Kernel sawit adalah sebutan lain dari inti atau biji buah kelapa sawit. Kernel sawit ini bisa dimakan dan juga bisa di olah menjadi palm kernel oil. Terdapat 2 macam minyak yang terbuat dari kelapa sawit yaitu pertama inti atau biji buah kelapa sawit yang dikenal dengan sebutan palm kernel oil. Dan yang kedua berasal dari daging buah kelapa sawit yang sudah melalui pemerasan dan perebusan yang dikenal dengan sebutan minyak sawit kasar. Cara pembuatan dan bahan – bahan kernel oil ini sama dengan minyak kelapa biasa.

 

Manfaat atau kegunaan kernel sawit ini sangat banyak sekali. Contoh nya seperti palm kernel oil bisa di gunakan untuk bahan baku dari makanan seperti minyak goreng, mentega. Berikut ini ada beberapa proses pengolahan inti atau kernel sawit yang perlu kamu tahu.

Kegunaan Kernel Sawit

1. Manfaat atau kegunaan dari kernel sawit

Selain yang ada di atas tadi banyak kegunaan dari kernel sawit yang perlu anda tahu. Mesin yang dapat mengubah minyak sawit menjadi bahan pangan yaitu refining, fractionating, deodozing, hydrogenation, dan bleaching. Kernel oil juga dapat digunakan untuk bahan baku pembuatan olechemical seperti fatty alcohol, fatty ester, glycerol, fatty acid, dan lain – lain. Jika di proses dengan cara tertentu kernel oil ini dapat bermanfaat untuk minyak pelumas, perekat insectisida, makanan hewan, lapisan pelindung, plasticizer dan masih banyak lagi

2. Proses pengolahan kernel menjadi PKO

Proses pengolahannya yaitu pertama tama kernel di timbang terlebih dahulu untuk mengetahui berat gross. Setelah itu di timbang lagi untuk mengetahui berat nettonya. Kedua memasukkan kernel ke dalam mesin untuk diolah dengan memakai konveyor. Ketiga kernel di masukkan ke dalam mesin crusher untuk di press agar menjadi minyak kernel.

Produk yang di hasilkan dari proses press tadi menghasilkan minyak kernel dan juga bungkil atau ampas. Bungkil tersebut bisa di olah menjadi bahan baku untuk membuat pakanan ternak yang berkualitas tinggi.

3. Proses pengolahan PKO

Langkah – langkah pengolahan palm kernel oil yaitu pertama penimbangan kernel. Lalu di lakukan loading bay fungsinya sebagai tempat pembongkaran inti sawit. Kemudian di masukkan kedalam silo inti fungsinya untuk menyimpan inti sawit untuk sementara waktu. Setelah itu di masukkan ke bunker inti untuk membagi inti sawit. Kemudian di lakukan screw press 1, bunker cake, screw press 2, bak screening, niaga filter, dan terakhir di masukkan ke tangki timbun.

4. Pengolahan inti sawit

Proses pengolahan inti sawit dengan menggunakan sebuah mesin untuk memproses minyak inti sawit. Inti sawit yaitu merupakan minyak nabati yang dapat di ambil kemudian di olah untuk di jadikan sebagai minyak sawit.

5. Proses kernel crushing plant

Kernel crushing plant di gunakan untuk mengolah inti sawit menjadi palm kernel oil serta palm kernel mill. Proses press kernel crushing ini ada dua tahap, yang pertama dengan menggunakan first press dan yang ke dua menggunakan second press. Yang membedakan first press dan second press yaitu press worm dan collar di bagian luar cake.
