Pabrik kelapa sawit semakin banyak didirikan sebagai wadah untuk mengolah hasil perkebunan sawit dalam negeri yang melimpah. Kemunculan mesin ripple mill sudah ada sejak tahun 1997, dimana kala itu pengembangannya dimulai dari pemecahan kacang kedelai, biji kapas, dan juga bunga matahari. Seiring dengan perkembangannya, mesin ripple mill sekarang menjadi salah satu alat penting di pabrik kelapa sawit.

Dimana perangkat satu ini digunakan guna memecah biji sawit. Jadi, cangkang sawit akan pecah lalu didapatkan hasil produksi yang berupa kernel. Cara kerja dari ripple mill sendiri yaitu dengan cara rotor berputar di bagian yang diam, kemudian biji akan masuk di antara rotor tersebut sehingga akan saling berbenturan dan membuat pecah cangkang dari inti.

Dalam menjalankan fungsinya, ripple mill di pabrik kelapa sawit terdiri atas berbagai komponen. King cracker atau mesin pemecah biji tersebut dilengkapi atas rotor pulley, motor pulley, rotor disc, rotor bar, rotor rod, rotor tie rod collar, bottom frame, flange bearing, dan joint plate guna menjalankan fungsinya.

Sebelumnya, nut atau cangkang biji yang berasal dari dalam buah kelapa sawit sudah melalui beberapa stasiun terlebih dahulu. Sehingga menjadikannya berbentuk cangkang biji. Agar bisa memperoleh kernel yang apik, maka cangkang biji ini harus dipecahkan sedemikian rupa di stasiun inti yang mana komponen terkait bekerja menjalankan fungsi tersebut.

Mesin nut cracker untuk pabrik kelapa sawit biasanya disediakan dengan beberapa macam varian kapasitas. Mulai dari 4 T, 6T, 8T, yang bisa anda sesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pengolahan di pabrik. Tentu semakin banyak buah kelapa sawit yang diolah dalam pabrik maka diperlukan mesin nut cracker dengan kapasitas yang besar pula.

Pada proses pemecahan biji ini, nantinya perlu diperhatikan kadar kelekangan di antara cangkang serta inti yang masih melekat. Pasalnya ketika proses tersebut berlangsung, maka kadar kekeringan dari biji perlu dimaksimalkan sehingga beban kerja dari mesin nut cracker menjadi tidak terlalu berat. Hal ini berlaku untuk semua mesin dengan varian kapasitas apapun.
